The Health 2030 Genome Center Secures Extension of ISO 15189 Accreditation with Flexible Scope

Geneva, Switzerland – April 14, 2025 –

The Health 2030 Genome Center is proud to announce a major step forward: the extension of its ISO 15189 accreditation, now operating under a C-type flexible scope (Accreditation number: SMTS 0050). This new status not only confirms the Genome Center’s excellence in health-related genomics but unlocks the agility needed to keep pace with fast-evolving new technologies and clinical assays.

The flexible scope now allows for fast and dynamic adaptations in methods, and sequencing platforms—critical elements in an era where precision medicine must adapt rapidly and with broad scope to the diversity of human health challenges.

Moreover, the flexible scope strengthens the Genome Center’s commitment to bridging translation from research to care. Whether supporting national genomic initiatives or clinical sequencing in hospitals, the Genome Center can now ensure that the data generated is both research-enabling and ready for clinical application, fulfilling its dual mission as a scientific and healthcare partner.

The Genome Center is also strengthening its quality and security frameworks by working toward ISO 27001 certification—the international standard for information security management. As genomic data becomes increasingly central to personalized medicine, safeguarding the integrity, confidentiality, and accessibility of this sensitive information is paramount. By embedding ISO 27001 principles into its operations, the Genome Center ensures that its digital infrastructure upholds the highest standards of data protection, reinforcing trust with patients, clinicians, and research partners alike.

With this milestone, the Health 2030 Genome Center reinforces its leadership in precision medicine in Switzerland and beyond. It’s not just about faster science, it’s about better outcomes for patients, a more responsive healthcare system, and a future where innovation and clinical care move hand in hand.
